Togo strengthens qualification procedures for trust service providers

The Togolese executive has just adopted in the Council of Ministers, a draft decree relating to the qualification of trust service providers.

The objective pursued by the government is to determine “ the rules relating to the procedure for the qualification of providers of trust services, cybersecurity and security products, as well as the procedure for the approval of evaluation centers ”. The text reinforces security around the information systems of administrations and operators of essential services. Indeed, Togo aims to become a model in terms of cybersecurity.

As a reminder, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Government and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) allowing the country to host the African Center for Coordination and Research in Cybersecurity.
